After years of back and forth about the possible expansion of legendary Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles restaurant in San Diego, we have a vital update on the project: IT’S ON. IT HAPPENS. Roscoe’s iconic soul food restaurant comes to Barrio Logan – FINALLY
A project underway since 2016 has finally resumed construction on National Avenue in San Diego’s Barrio Logan community, where Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles is building a new 4,000 square foot restaurant. Known for its traditional Southern fare, from fried chicken and smothered chicken and cookie waffles, Roscoe’s is due in early 2022. The project was stalled in 2017, but now it’s going full steam ahead.

Vaccination clinic accommodation of the Liberty Station restaurant
Good Time Hospitality (GTD) is trying to make vaccinating its staff easy and convenient by partnering with the City of San Diego for a vaccination campaign to be held at The Presley on August 10. In addition to employees, the free clinic will be open to all hospitality workers from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day.

Monitoring of new restaurant openings in San Diego
A new range of dining options joins Eater San Diego’s frequently updated list of the latest restaurant and bar openings, including outstanding sushi bars in Mission Hills and Kearny Mesa, a cool spot for Thai cuisine and another location for a Kensington pub and bottle shop.

Popular Chinese restaurants delay opening in Westfield UTC
Initially scheduled for this summer, the launch of two well-known restaurants serving Chinese cuisine has been postponed until the fall. HaiDiLao, the largest Chinese fondue chain, is known for its noodle-making demonstrations, and Qin West Noodle features regional noodle soups and other dishes.

The August edition of Eater Heatmap features two very noisy restaurants. Hoxton Manor brings the flavors of Southeast Asia to North Park, presented with modern sensibilities inspired by SoCal, while the Sky Deck offers a host of exciting options, from ramen to pizza and Thai cuisine.
