Rashtrapati Bhavan conducts a 2-day workshop on “Disaster Management of Museums and Heritage Buildings”

Rashtrapati Bhavan, in association with the National Institute for Disaster Management (NIDM), organized a workshop on “Disaster Management of Museums and Heritage Buildings” on July 7-8, 2022, at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum. The objective of the workshop is to sensitize Rashtrapati Bhavan officials and other stakeholders on disaster management with a focus on heritage buildings, museums and cultural heritage, the secretariat of the President.

During the two-day workshop, participants will learn about different aspects of disaster management law; Disaster management framework and guidelines; Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR); Prime Minister’s 10-Point Agenda on Disaster Risk Reduction, etc. during different sessions. On the first day, speakers highlighted the need for disaster management awareness and knowledge transfer to train stakeholders to mitigate disaster losses.

They also highlighted the importance of disaster management in heritage buildings and emphasized the formulation of effective guidelines and response mechanism for disaster management. (ANI)
