Dahl Restaurant Group announces second Pisa Lisa location

Dahl Restaurant Groupled by award-winning chef and owner Lisa Dahl, will open her second Pisa Lisa July location in Sedona’s Oak Creek Village with expanded space and additional menu offerings inspired by its beloved original Pisa Lisa in West Sedona. The first location opened in 2013 and instantly became a go-to destination for tourists as well as a local community staple, serving as a casual stop for wood-fired thin-crust pizzas, organic salads, locally made tapas and artisanal ice cream. Dahl’s sixth restaurant in northern Arizona’s red rock country will continue to offer and grow the vibrant social environment and authentic pizza that Pisa Lisa has become synonymous with.

Named after an endearment given by Dahl’s late father whenever he pinched his daughter and said “I want a little piece of Lisa”, Pisa Lisa shares characteristic personalized touches evident throughout the restaurant. Popular food selections are named after members of his family such as Da Dorothy pizza after Dahl’s mother and made with mother sauce, provolone-mozzarella, fennel sausage, picante peppers, Parm -Reggiano and the Justino pizza dedicated to his deceased son and made with Ricotta, provolone-mozzarella, or San Danielle prosciutto, organic arugula and white truffle oil. The new location will also offer the fan-favorite Tuscan tomato bisque soup, as well as gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. To meet customer demand, there are two Mugnaini pizza ovens, both adorned with stunning mosaics, as the expansive space allowed Dahl to expand the dinner menu inspired by the first Pisa Lisa location.

Pisa Lisa in the Village of Oak Creek will introduce new dishes including mouth-watering antipasto selections like Lisa’s Plate, a sample antipasto with fresh mozzarella bocconcini, tomatoes, finnochio slaw, magic mushrooms , caselveltrano olives and fire-roasted artichokes. To satisfy all sweet cravings, the dessert menu is full of mouth-watering choices like affogato and newcomer Cookie Monster, a warm, gooey jumbo chocolate chip cookie sundae with vegan strawberry-stracciatella gelato ( vegan and gluten-free). All Pisa Lisa desserts are homemade by a team of pastry chefs dedicated to preserving the integrity of legendary favorites like the signature tiramisu that customers have loved for over 25 years. Lemon Lover’s Cheesecake made with homemade citroncello is a top favorite, but every season the flavors change and there are no duds when it comes to Decadent Dolci. Beverage offerings will include natural sodas, local mead, 16 taps for craft beers and best-selling wines. It also offers a wide selection of healthy take-out items, including paninis, prepared pizzas, morning treats and locally sourced roast coffee.

“I put my heart and soul into the first location of Pisa Lisa, which is a testament to my dedication to serving people, special experiences that will turn into treasured memories while honoring the adoration I feel for members of my family who are no longer with us,” Dahl said. “This new location allows us to extend this heartfelt concept to a wider audience, as it is ultimately the culmination of my work and my passion for the Sedona culinary scene and my gratitude to those who dine at Pisa Lisa and support me in the belief that Rock ‘n’ Roll is here to stay!

Pisa Lisa Oak Creek will offer a more refined and industrial look than its predecessor while maintaining the iconic charm and bohemian style that locals and visitors to the area have come to expect. Building on the earthy, hip aesthetic of its sister location, the new 3,500 square foot restaurant features a sprawling 110-seat dining room (64 indoors, 46 patio seats) as well as two communal craftsman-style butcher tables; encourage a gathering atmosphere for good food, camaraderie and good times for all. The elevated bar (seating 14) surrounded by an eclectic collection of Rock ‘n’ Roll memorabilia from the 60s, 70s and 80s comes from a Capitol Records frame by Lisa’s brother, Jay Levinson. There are five TVs on display to ensure that any sports-loving pizza lover won’t miss a piece from any angle. Additionally, a central design focal point for Dahl when designing the space is an 8-foot vintage chandelier fitted with hand-blown glass and LED lights crafted by sculptor Dale Evers.
