The Masters unveiled the appetizing Japanese-themed menu for this year’s Champions Dinner. The dishes, chosen by Hideki Matsuyama himself, are “to honor” Japan’s first-ever professional golfer to win a major men’s golf championship, who won the legendary Masters green jacket last year. The 2022 Dinner of Champions will take place at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia on Tuesday, April 5.
Dinner will open with sushi, sashimi and nigiri, and yakitori chicken skewers for appetizers. Then, for the main course, options include miso-glazed black cod and Wagyu rib eye with a mix of mushrooms and vegetables. Finally, for dessert, a Japanese strawberry shortcake.

Right now, 30-year-old Matsuyama currently has +4200 chances to repeat as Masters champion, which doesn’t even put him in the Top 15 favorites. This year, John Rahm is favorite to win the Masters with +1300, followed by Justin Thomas at +1400, Cameron Smith at +1400 and Dustin Johnson completing the Top 5 at +1600.
That said, however, this year’s contenders probably aren’t even the focus of golf fans right now, as all eyes are currently on the legendary Tiger Woods, who played a practice round at Augusta Monday as he attempted to enter the tournament. , which would be his first Major after his devastating car accident in February 2021.
As for the Masters proper, the tournament kicks off on Thursday, with ESPN airing the first two days of action Thursday and Friday. Then on Saturday and Sunday the show will air on CBS where it will be called to the soothing sound of Jim Nantz.
