Eid ul Adha 2021: 4-step recipe for making mutton salan at home

Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on July 21 of this year. It is a day that honors and commemorates the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim. On this day, people prepare feasts and sacrifice animals, usually goats, to give to friends, family and the poor. So we have for you a traditional Mouton Salan recipe that you can make at home to soak up the spirit of this holiday.
Mutton Salan is a spicy mutton curry that is made with traditional Indian spices and includes a variety of different ingredients. These ingredients include cinnamon, cloves, saffron, onion, garlic, cardamom, etc. Discover the 4-step recipe to prepare this dish at home.
Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a pressure cooker and add 2 tablespoons of finely chopped garlic with 1 tablespoon of chopped green peppers. Then add 1 chopped onion to the casserole dish and cook over medium heat for a few minutes.
Take ½ kg of mutton and add the pieces to the slow cooker followed by 3 tablespoons of ginger garlic paste. Mix well. Now add 2 tablespoons of red chilli powder, 1 ½ tablespoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder, 3 cloves, 1 black cardamom and ½ inch cinnamon stick.
Add ½ cup of water and cook for 3 whistles or until the mutton pieces are soft and tender. Meanwhile, sauté 1 sliced onion in oil until it turns brown and crisp and set aside. Now add 1 tablespoon of curd, a pinch of saffron and 1 teaspoon of garam masala. Mix well.
Cook the salan for 10-15 minutes over low heat. Transfer to a bowl and garnish with fried onions. Serve with roast or rice.
