VIDEO: Locals share ‘Plan B’ stories at 7 Stories event at Highline Heritage Museum

On Friday evening November 19, 2021, some of your neighbors shared some personal and true “Plan B” themed stories at another 7 Stories event at the Highline Heritage Museum in Olde Burien.

7 Stories is an evening of storytelling to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our communities. Stories tell us more about our friends and neighbors.

The B-Town blog streamed the event live on our Facebook page (“Like us” here to receive notifications for future live videos).

    • Each 7 Stories night has a theme, and the storytellers are chosen in advance to tell real stories from real life, not fables or fiction.
    • These life stories can be compelling, raw, powerful, or humorous. This is not theater, but real life stories told by friends, acquaintances and strangers.
    • Storytellers are encouraged to use the language they feel most comfortable with.
    • Stories will be memorized and told from the heart.
    • The evening’s hosts will present each story with a short biography of the storyteller. There will be an intermission after the 4th speaker, with free tea, coffee and cookies.

Here is an edited video of the event on November 19 (duration 1 hour, 22 minutes):

Storytellers are needed for upcoming events, which we also plan to broadcast live:

    • Friday December 17, 2021 (3rd Friday): “If only I had listened”
    • January 28, 2022 (4th Friday): “How did I get here? “
    • February 25, 2022: “My first crush”
    • March 25, 2022: “When I was a kid …”

Parents should use discretion when deciding whether or not to include children.

Not all stories will be suitable for young listeners.

* We can help coordinate the logistics of a 2 person bilingual story. Storytellers can apply through a very short application process.
