Bharat Gaurav Trains to Showcase India’s Rich Cultural Heritage: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw today announced the introduction of Bharat Gaurav Trains Themed Sightseeing Tours Trains. Speaking to the media at a press conference, he said these trains will help fulfill Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of presenting India’s rich cultural heritage and beautiful historic places to the Indian people and world. He further added that the main strength of tourism industry professionals would be leveraged to develop / identify tourist routes and operate thematic trains to harness India’s vast tourism potential.

Scope:

The service provider would be free to choose a theme like Guru Kripa trains to cover important places of Sikh culture, Ramayana trains for places related to Lord Shri Ram, etc.

The service provider will offer an all-inclusive package for tourists, including train travel, hotel accommodation, organization of sightseeing tours, visit to historic / heritage sites, tour guides, etc.

Total flexibility to decide the cost of the package according to the level of services offered.

Choice of coaches adapted to the clientele, to the different segments such as luxury, budget etc.

Free to design / furnish the interior of the coaches according to the theme.

Branding and advertising are allowed inside and outside the train.

The composition of the train will be 14 to 20 cars including 2 SLR (Guard Vans).

To treat:

Simple and transparent one-step online registration process. Registration fee of Rs 1 (one) Lakh only.

Assignment of coaches to all eligible candidates subject to availability. Priority should be based on the time and date of the rake security deposit. Rs 1 (one) Crore security deposit per rake.

Individuals, partnerships, corporations, corporations, trusts, joint ventures / consortia (unincorporated / incorporated) are eligible.

User right fees and freight charges notified in the service provider’s policy to develop their business model.

Period of the right of use: 2 to 10 years.

Customer service:

Customer Support Units to be made operational in the field to keep the service provider in hand and for the proper implementation of this system.
