Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday congratulated all officers and employees of the tourism department of Ladpura Khas village of Orchha for being nominated for the “Best Tourist Village” category of the World Tourism Organization Award United Nations, according to state government information. Now tourism has become a focal point not only for the entertainment but also for employment, local culture, food, art and architecture. “
Sharing information about the nomination, Senior Tourism and Culture Secretary Sheo Shekhar Shukla said the Union Tourism Ministry has nominated Ladpurakhas village of Orchha for the best tourist village. Along with this, two other villages have been proposed for Meghalaya and Telangana.
The PS said: “The” Rural Tourism “project has been launched with the objective of giving shape to the concept of rural tourism by adding new dimensions in the field of tourism. Over the next five years, 100 villages will be developed in from the point of view of rural tourism. ”
Among these, he added, suitable sites would be selected and developed in Orchha, Khajuraho, Mandu, Sanchi, Pachmarhi, Tamia, Panna National Park, Bandhavgarh National Park, Sanjay Dubri National Park. , Pench and Kanha National Park, Mitawali, Padawali, etc.
Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that under the Rural Tourism Project, work is underway on six main components, including regional tourism activities, convenient accommodation / accommodation for tourists, traditional and local cuisine, cultural experiences , arts and crafts and improving the skills of young people. .
He said the local community would directly benefit from the development of tourism in his area. The Tourist Board also offers training to develop tourism products with community participation.
